Grandmas Magic Box

Finished this little toy chest today. Needs a coat of varnish, and then hopefully, some lovely Grandma will have it at her house, for her grandchildren, full of treasures for little hands and imaginations...

Half Moon Hall Table

This is the largest piece of furniture I've attempted. I am pleased with the result. The whimsical, colorful painted surfaces bring joy to my late evenings; and then, that shiny topcoat ties it all together and gives it depth. Available as soon as it's dry; at Arista Wine Cellars. $700

A creative partnership

http://www.aristawines.com and I have serendipitously created a wonderful partnership. There was an old wine barrel sitting on the loading dock for the longest time. My husband's office is next door to the wine shop, and every time I went to his office, I saw that poor barrel, crying for a paint job. I finally asked the owners

Balancing Art/Act

These single bottle wine racks are each an abstract painting in itself. Find the balance point, and try and figure out how it works. Made with reclaimed wood.

Serve Your Art

These trays are just like my abstract paintings; each one unique, shiny and colorful. They are varnished with a polyurethane varnish and will withstand regular use. Functional art is awesome.

About the Artist

Raised in Tranquillity, California, I have been surrounded by art my whole life. Having three grandparents from an artistic background, painting was something I always appreciated, but didn’t ever try until college. I attended California Polytechnic State University where I received a degree in Liberal Studies with a minor in Art. Graduation came much before my appetite for painting

Eyelash

This painting is acrylic, pen and ink. This was finished on my comfy couch with an enormous, baby-laden belly as my desk. The pen was great to use as my carpal tunnel was terrible with #8.

Bees, appreciated by some for honey, feared by most of the young, and fascinating when examined with a magnifying glass. Too many species to count.

Sunday's Bronze

Sunday's Bronze: 18 x 24 $450 SOLD

This was one of the first in my abstract journey; now long gone to a happy home, but to this day, still appreciated and eye-opening to me as a painter. It was completed on one lovely Sunday.

The occasional watercolor

Although I mostly work in acrylics, there is the occasional watercolor; the medium that first led me to be a painter. It's wonderful for kids. This garden was a project with second graders.

Your cup of tea

Collaborative project with 8th graders. Names of students were written on the outside of the canvas. Big seller.

Kinder love

Kindergarten collaborative project. So much fun to work with these kids. This was a big seller!

Primal Chameleon

Primal Chameleon: 28 x 36 $950

Sometimes a painting just barfs out of you without any planning. Perhaps it's a color you want to use, perhaps your reaction to an interaction of a child or the days happenings. Perhaps it's just something you have to do. This is from one of those times.

Peering at Atlantis

Got lost in the turquoise circle and couldn't lose it... So it just sucks you in.

Round End table with drawer

Not only would your coffee wake you up, but your table too. And oh, so shiny!
